Jonathan Main

Professional: Jonathan joined MHA Moore and Smalley as a Partner in 2018. He qualified with the Chartered Institute of Taxation as a chartered tax adviser in 1994 and as an accredited mediator with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution in 2016. To ensure that we continue to provide the best advice to our clients following the UK’s departure from the EU, Jonathan is currently studying for the Level 3 Certificate in International Trade with The Institute of Export & International Trade. He has more than thirty years’ experience of indirect taxation, including time spent as a Partner with both Arthur Andersen and PwC. During his time with PwC, Jonathan was Senior Partner for PwC’s Liverpool office.

In addition to Jonathan’s experience within professional services, he has also served as the finance lead on the Board of Trustees at Culture Warrington.

Jonathan has been co-opted to the board as The Association of Independent Specialist Medical Accountants (AISMA) VAT specialist for the purpose of meetings with external organisations such as NHS England and HMRC.

Personal: Jonathan grew up in Crosby and attended Merchant Taylors’ School from 1977 – 1984. He now lives in Southport.  He has four wonderful children, loves the highlands of Scotland and is a keen walker.
