Budget 2011: What I want to see

Ahead of  Budget Day on 23 March 2011  Graham Gordon, partner and head of financial planning at Moore and Smalley shares his thoughts on what he would like to see announced by the Chancellor, George Osborne.

“The proposals and imminent changes to pensions, go a long way to righting the wrongs of the previous government’s ‘pension simplification’.   That said, I don’t know why we need a reduced lifetime allowance down from £1.8m to £1.5m, when the maximum contribution has fallen from £255k to £50k each year.  The government should either limit the relief on the way in or limit the ultimate fund, but not both.”
