Spring Budget 2017 Reaction: National Insurance Increase

Class 4 NIC paid by the self employed (sole traders and partners) will increase in April 2018 from the current rate of 9% to 10%, and then from 10% to 11% a year later in April 2019.

This measure is being brought in to reduce the disparity between the amount of national insurance paid by the employed compared with the self employed.
