Houghton named Moore and Smalley’s first partner for business development

 

North West accountancy and business advisory firm Moore and Smalley has promoted Danny Houghton to partner for business development.

 

Houghton, 35, was previously director for business development at the firm which has five North West offices and acquired specialist Nottingham firm Dean Burrows Stevenson earlier this month (April).

 

Houghton, who becomes Moore and Smalley’s first ever partner with responsibility for business development and marketing, joined the firm in 2003 from Grant Thornton in Liverpool.

 

Since his arrival, he has led the firm’s new business development, brand awareness and overall marketing strategy, a period which has seen Moore and Smalley increase turnover from £5 million to over £10 million and become one of the UK’s top 50 accountancy firms.

Houghton’s promotion takes current partner numbers at Moore and Smalley to 18. The firm, which has offices in Preston, Blackpool, Lancaster, Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale, Castle Donington and Nottingham, employs 200 staff.
