Yorkshire-based Concorde swoops for Lancashire’s Control Key Ltd
A Lanacashire-based IT business is eyeing growth after it was acquired by a Yorkshire-based rival.
Blackburn’s Control Key Ltd, which specialises in IT network management and security, has been bought by Leeds-based Concorde Excel Holdings Ltd, owner of IT services and solutions company Concorde Informatics, for an undisclosed sum.
Stephen Gregson, corporate finance director at Moore and Smalley Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, advised the owners of Control Key on the sale of the company to Concorde.
Control Key directors David Parkinson and Kieron Sykes will continue to manage the business they founded in 1999, growing it within the Concorde Group alongside Concorde Informatics.
The acquisition will allow Control Key, which has five employees, to benefit from the Group’s central infrastructure and brings additional services to Concorde Informatics.
Stephen Gregson, corporate finance director at Moore and Smalley, said: “Control Key’s wealth of expertise in IT network design, implementation and management, has allowed it to enjoy successful organic growth over a number of years.
“This sale will allow it to benefit from new investment and the additional expertise of Concorde Informatics, while also giving Concorde new cross-selling opportunities and a strategic base in Lancashire.”
David Parkinson, business manager at Control Key, said: “Control Key was built around providing support services to our clients, and now we are looking forward to wrapping these up with Concorde’s services to provide our clients with a compelling range of managed services.”
Colin Meakin, chief executive of Concorde Informatics, said: “Having the Blackburn team as part of our expanding group will allow us to springboard our enlarged services portfolio into the Lancashire area and increase our coverage accordingly.”
The owners of Control Key were also advised by Peter Hine of Marsden Rawsthorn Solicitors, while the owners of Concorde were advised by Marcus Armstrong at Lupton Fawcett Solicitors.
