Q1 How long have you been working in the VAT field?

31 years!

Q2 What do you enjoy most about VAT?

I love helping people overcome their fear of VAT! I also enjoy the fact that unless you understand your client’s business, you cannot advise them on the way VAT will affect them.

Q3 Why MHA Moore and Smalley?

I have worked with MHA Moore and Smalley as a consultant for just under a year. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the people that make the business tick and working with clients across a number of industries. It’s a privilege to be accepted as a partner in such a vibrant and ambitious firm.

Q4 What are you looking forward to the most about working for MHA Moore and Smalley?

Working with great people, engaging with a really interesting range of clients and growing a successful practice.

Q5 What was your first job?

A Saturday job in Boots on South Road in Waterloo. I think I held the record for the slowest ever shelf stacker.

Q6 If you weren’t an accountant, what would your dream job be?

Learning how to be self sufficient on a croft in the highlands of Scotland.

Q7 If any actor were to play you in a film of your life, who would it be and why?

I’m told I could be Ricky Gervais stunt double. I can’t do the robot dance.

Q8 Favourite Sport? Hobbies?

Football, walking in the Scottish highlands.

Q9 If you could change one thing in Britain what would it be?

Stop using so much plastic!
