Moore and Smalley targets healthcare growth with Nottingham acquisition
Moore and Smalley Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors has doubled the size of its East Midlands healthcare portfolio by acquiring niche Nottingham firm Dean Burrows Stevenson for an undisclosed sum. Preston-headquartered Moore and Smalley has one of the largest healthcare portfolios in the North West, providing accountancy services to over 70 GPs practices, as well as care homes, dental practitioners and other healthcare professionals.
Dean Burrows Stevenson Chartered Accountants, established in 2003, is a member of the Association of Independent Specialist Medical Accountants (AISMA) and has healthcare clients across the East Midlands.
Moore and Smalley also has an office in Castle Donington, Derbyshire, specialising in accountancy services to the healthcare sector, and so the acquisition strengthens Moore and Smalley’s presence in the East Midlands, doubling its client base in the region.
Deborah Wood, partner and head of Moore and Smalley’s specialist healthcare team, said: “Dean Burrows Stevenson’s medical niche and its strong client base make this an excellent strategic acquisition for Moore and Smalley that will complement our existing expertise in the healthcare sector.
“Organisations working in healthcare are required to comply with unique financial regulations and requirements, so we are naturally delighted to boost our expertise in this area.”
Nick Stevenson, partner at Dean Burrows Stevenson, said: “Our acquisition by such a prestigious firm as Moore and Smalley strengthens our position and reputation in the East Midlands.
“This investment means we can continue to grow while maintaining the same high standards and specialist expertise that has been the cornerstone of our success to date.”
Dean Burrows Stevenson, which is based in Regent Street, Nottingham, will now be re-named under the Moore and Smalley brand.
Moore and Smalley, which also has offices in Blackpool, Lancaster, Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale, provides a full range of accountancy and business advisory services, including taxation, accounts, corporate finance, payroll, financial planning and wealth management.
