Moore and Smalley supports Brinscall Cricket Club

Brinscall Cricket Club is hoping to bowl over the competition thanks to a cash donation from accountants and business advisers Moore and Smalley.

The Preston-based firm made the donation as part of its pledge to ‘put something back’ by supporting various community projects and causes.

Brinscall CC’s 1st XI captain is a chartered financial planner at Moore and Smalley, which led to the company offering their support.

The funds will be used on a number of improvements to Brinscall’s ground on School Lane.

Danny Houghton, partner at Moore and Smalley, said: “We’re already involved in the local sporting community with our sponsorship of the Palace Shield and we were keen to support a club in the area. He is passionate about Brinscall and a club captained by one of our team was the ideal choice.

“Clubs like this often rely on the support of others and we feel it’s important to support and invest in the local community.”

“Brinscall was my local club growing up and I’ve been involved since I was 12. In total, I’ve been playing with the club for around 25 years.

“We’re going to use the donation to fund various ground infrastructure projects, both on and off the field. It’s brilliant for the club and it was great to tell the guys the good news.”

Brinscall CC 1st XI plays in the Ribblesdale Senior League after winning the division one title and securing promotion in 2013. The team also won the Lawrenson Cup in the same year.
