Moore and Smalley named Lancashire’s top corporate finance team
Moore and Smalley’s corporate finance team has been named as the best in Lancashire for the second year running.
The firm was crowned Corporate Finance Advisory Team of the Year at the 2011 Lancashire Dealmakers Awards.
The annual awards celebrate the achievements of the county’s dealmaking community and Moore and Smalley saw off competition from a number of regional rivals to claim the same title it won in 2010.
Over the last 12-months, Moore and Smalley has represented its clients on a range of deals, including business turnarounds, business sales, re-financings and numerous management buyouts.
The firm also completed its own deal to buy Dean Burrows Stevenson, an accountancy firm in Nottingham, which has allowed it to expand its healthcare specialism.
Rob Kenmare, corporate finance partner at Moore and Smalley Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, said: “Over the last year we have stayed very close to our clients, as we always do, and have managed to complete a number of transactions in what has been a very tough market. We remain optimistic about the next 12-months and look forward to another successful year.”
The awards, held at Ewood Park, Blackburn, are organised by North West Business Insider magazine and were attended by around 250 guests from Lancashire’s professional community including accountants, lawyers, bankers and financiers.
Michael Taylor, editor of North West Business Insider, compered the evening and paid tribute to the tenacity and creativity of Lancashire’s dealmaking community.
He said: “Doing deals is tough – doing deals in the North of England is tougher – but we’ve seen tonight some very ballsy deals and bold businesses being recognised for their appetite for business.”
