Local businesses chip in for hospice

More than 90 attendees swotted up on their general knowledge to help raise £1,469 for Southport’s Queenscourt Hospice.

The money was raised at an annual quiz evening hosted by local accountancy firm Moore and Smalley at The Argyle Tennis Club, Argyle Road.

Attended by businesses and professionals from across the area, the event raised the cash through ticket sales and a raffle, while guests also enjoyed a fish and chip supper.

Partner at Moore and Smalley’s Southport office, said: “This was one of the most well attended and successful quiz evenings we’ve ever had at the firm. It’s great to be able to hand over these vital funds to Queenscourt Hospice. We’d like to offer a huge thank you to all those who came and supported the event and the hospice.”

Businesses attending the event included RBS, Birchall Blackburn, Fletchers, Hodge Halsall, and Napthens. The quiz was won by a team from Moore and Smalley and the runners up were Napthens.
