Accountants bring Easter cheer to Salvation Army

The Preston office of North West accountancy and business advisory firm, MHA Moore and Smalley, has donated 350 Easter eggs to the Salvation Army, which will be included in essential food parcels over Easter.

With over 800 parishes in the UK, the Salvation Army is known for its work with people who have fallen on hard times. It provides shelter and food for the homeless as well as operating food distribution centres.

The eggs were delivered to the Preston Salvation Centre on Harrington Road in time for Good Friday and will be distributed in food parcels across Preston and South Ribble.

Natalie Thomas, community project leader at the Salvation Army Preston centre, said: “With the current situation, our food donations have been seriously impacted so it’s lovely to have this generous contribution and be able to give some much needed treats in our food parcels.”

Graham Gordon, managing partner of MHA Moore and Smalley, which has its head office in Winckley Square, said: “The Salvation Army does a wonderful job for vulnerable people and it is working harder than ever helping our local communities and neighbourhoods during the current coronavirus crisis.

“We hope our donation can help brighten up someone’s day during these challenging times.”
