The Lancaster team at MHA Moore and Smalley held their  annual charity quiz night in the city in June 2019 to raise funds for Achieve Change and Engagement (A.C.E.)

14 teams from professional service firms and banks attended the packed-out event at the Royal Kings Arms Hotel in Lancaster.  The businesses represented on the night were from Eckersley Property, Handelsbanken, Barclays, Baines Wilson, NatWest, Harrison Drury, Simpson Millar, Lloyds, Oglethorpe, Sturton & Gillibrand, Reid Hamilton, Joseph A Jones, SDM Legal and Backhouses.

Simpson Millar were the winners on the night with the team from Eckersley Property coming a close second.

The event raised £817 for the Lancaster based charity which provides which provides a range of support for people with mental or emotional health problems.

Sally Temple, Operations Director, A.C.E said:  “The money raised will help us in our work with children, young people and adults to support them to build emotional resilience.  Fortunately, more people are talking about mental health, but the resources to support them are not always easy to access.

“The reason our charity exists is to provide that support, especially to young people with mental health issues to motivate them to change their attitudes and behaviours so they can improve their well being.

“We would like to thank MHA Moore and Smalley for organising the quiz, to the Royal Kings Arms for hosting the event and making us their charity of the year for 2019 and to all the local businesses who took part.  The support is very much appreciated and the funds will help us in our mission to enhance the quality of life of people experiencing mental and emotional distress.”

Rachel Marsdin, Tax Partner at MHA Moore and Smalley hosted the quiz said: “We were overwhelmed with the support from all the businesses who attended the event and generously donated to the charity.  It was a fantastic evening and I’m so glad we could do our bit to help this worthy local cause.”
